Mid Century Modern CalRad Speaker Converted to Bluetooth - Groovy

This is a late 60's early 70's CalRad (California Radio) speaker made in Japan. California Radio started as a competitor to Radio shack offering medium range home audio products. Saw this at a recent radio show and had to convert it to Bluetooth. It was probably on a bookshelf. The original black case was in need of TLC but the speaker cloth was in great condition. Very groovy looking almost purple with metallic swirls man. Removed the speaker & cover to work on the case. Sanded & refinished it in a beautiful black gloss. Nice.  On the inside I installed a new 50 watt digital Bluetooth amp connected to a Jensen 8" multi range speaker. Really has a great sound for a small box. Cut a hole on the right side for the on/off/volume switch. Used a black/chrome knob from my inventory to finish it off. Now this MCM classic is looking beautiful again. Please look at the pics. This is one of a kind speaker that is mid century cool. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement. Buy it for yourself or give it as a great gift.
