Description

This is a rare 1851 O New Orleans seated liberty dime PCGS AU details. It has a full strike on the obverse with full stars, LIBERTY, shield and Liberty has full gown and hair details. There is some slightly uneven planchet details in the field at 2 o'clock that looks like a rough planchet not unusual for a New Orleans date but that must account for the grade. The reverse is very well struck for the date and both sides have a light flat gray tone. The coin was originally in a older PCGS AU55 holder and not sure how it ended up in this one and it sold for 00 at that time. It is offered at NO RESERVE and is a great looking high grade example for the price.
