Walt Disney Productions SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN
DWARFS Original WORLD PREMIERE Program Book, 1937
    WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
    (1937)
    28 pages plus heavyweight paper covers, 13" x 10"
This handsome and elaborate program book was presented to persons who attended the December 21, 1937 world premiere of Walt Disney's first animated feature at the Carthay Circle Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Inside are Walt Disney's dedication page, six pages on aspects of the film and its making (the original story, production statistics, music, colors, sound effects, Walt Disney awards) and pages of congratulatory advertisements by Los Angeles movie studios and businesses. It is illustrated throughout in black-and-white.
The 4-page center spread is made of metal-foil lined paper printed in blue and white with textured snowflakes. The die-cut cover displays the great publicity painting by Gustaf Tenggren that is printed on a liner inside the folded cover sheets. This artwork was utilized extensively for promotional purposes during the 1937 release and in subsequent years.
The cover sheets are darkened primarily at the edges, there is light waterstaining along the bottom edge and a few other smallish areas of discoloration; the foil center spread shows very minor creasing; overall, this is a sound and presentable copy of a scarce book: VERY GOOD condition.
