These springs are necessary in maintaining consistent position of the
thumb roller on the axle and prevent the roller from sounding cheap and tinny when the lighter is lit.
My springs are made from
stainless steel
and will not rust or corrode like the original. I find lighters frequently are missing this part.
In my experience mine
perform better than the original
. My springs fit perfectly on the base of the needle valve thus are less likely to rust and break over time.
