Vintage Chicago & Alton Railroad Co Treasurers Office Cash Receipt Box ?
This is an old metal cash or receipt box. This has the writing in old gold paint as you can see. The box has wear and tear such as paint loss and scratches and scuffs. I don't see any dents as this is pretty heavy gauge metal. This measures about 16 X 11 X 5 1/2 inches tall. This is missing the lock which kept the box locked (so you could carry it by the handle) and the lid level. Without the lock the lid drops down further in the front. A neat old piece if you collect C&A RR items. Look at the photos to judge the condition for yourself.
