VINTAGE RARE MILWAUKEE ROAD TRAVELER 7.25" SALAD PLATE RR BACK STAMP DATE 6-R

Description

Fresh from a local estate. Untouched, as found. Pink/white/black flying birds and pink/white evergreen trees design. No cracks, chips, nor signs of repair. Plate measures approximately 7.25 inches in diameter. Visible utensil scrape marks over top of plate (photo #3). Underside marked "SYRACUSE CHINA ECONO-RIM 6-R TRADE MARK PAT. PENDING" as well as "The TRAVELER" and "DESIGNED ESPECIALLY FOR Milwaukee Road DINING CAR SERVICE". Date mark is 6-R. Underside of plate also stamped with a railroad stamp of the letter "F" (photos #5 & 6). Bottom also shows some scrape wear with ceramic plate felt through glaze (larger mark showing to the left of center in photo #7) and also on a small spot on underside of larger rim edge of plate.
Underside shows 3 round equidistant indentation marks that do not have a rough ceramic feel to them, glaze feels intact (see final 3 photos), possibly from being fired in kiln.
