VINTAGE RARE MILWAUKEE ROAD TRAVELER 8" OVAL PLATE RR BACK STAMP DATEMARK 12-U

Description

Fresh from a local estate. Untouched, as found. Pink/white/black flying birds and pink/white evergreen trees design. No cracks, chips, nor signs of repair. No signs of ever having been used.  Underside shows 3 small round indentation marks that do not have a rough ceramic feel to them, glaze feels intact (see final 3 photos). Underside marked "SYRACUSE CHINA ECONO-RIM 12-U TRADE MARK PATENTED" as well as "The TRAVELER" and "DESIGNED ESPECIALLY FOR Milwaukee Road DINING CAR SERVICE". Date mark is 12-U. Underside of plate also stamped with a railroad stamp of the letter "E" (photo #7). Oval shape of plate measures approximately 8" L x 6.5" W.
